My original paintings.

In the far Burkina, a miracle of sweetness

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 21, 2009, 5:17 AM
Hey DA friends!
I'm back from a journey in Burkina Faso with a special picture (see the new featured one). It was a quick shot taken from a window and I still don't understand how the hell my camera could create such a great "dreamy" effect (I wish a was responsible of this strange composition, but I'm not :O, the result was just a complete and beautiful surprise). I wonder wether you'll feel the same emotion as I do when I look at this man, I'm curious about it...

It's hard to tell about oneself. I guess that I couldn't say more than what I already "say" in my artwork.

I love the elemental spirit series idea! My wife and I had a gallery named The Fifth Element Gallery. The idea being that artists take the ancient four elements: earth, air, water and fire, and create art by adding the fifth element which is the artists own spirit. We moved and closed down the store front gallery but still maintain an online site [link] that showcases my wife's work. There is an explanation behind the name on it there. Can't wait to see more in this series from you. Beautiful paintings!

You're the first one on DA who gave a name to this series and, of course, you're right ! ;) I'm precisely doing an elemental spirit series. And I like a lot your idea of creating a fifth spirit, wich would represent the artist's one. Actually, I did represent my own soul on 2 paintings, my soul suffering on "aux frontières de l'âme" ([link]) and my soul in peace on "peaceful soul" ([link]). In a certain way, I could consider they are my own spirit. But I'll reconsider your idea and try to imagine a more elemental spirit, because those ones might be a little too "spiritual". Anyway, thanks a lot for your nice comments and fave. I'm glad you appreciate my artwork. :)
